Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium appoints new GM and Executive Chef

Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium General Manager - Anne Johnston_1Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium is pleased to announce the appointment of Anne Johnston as the new General Manager and Chef Chua Yew Hock as the newly-appointed Executive Chef.

Scottish born Anne is no stranger to Singapore, having been the Executive Assistant Manager of the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium for three years from 2008. She brings with her a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry. Her career with the Intercontinental Hotels Group so far has spanned some 14 hotels, 3 brands and 8 countries including Scotland, Germany, Austria, England, Singapore, the Maldives, Slovakia and Russia.

Anne returns to the region after spending two years in Europe – first as Resident Manager at the InterContinental Berlin Hotel, and most recently, the General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Bratislava.

“Singapore is a fast moving market and I am extremely excited to be back. The hotel is undertaking a major refurbishment project and I have the honour of leading the team through the final stages of this process and positioning the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium as one of the preferred hotels in the city,” says Anne.

Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium - Chef Chua Yew Hock_1Chef Chua brings with him more than 30 years of culinary experience, and will be leading the team in overall kitchen operations, conceptualisation of menus, banquet and events, as well as positioning Atrium Restaurant, the hotel’s new all-day dining restaurant as one of the preferred restaurants in Singapore.    

Starting his career as an apprentice in 1982, Chef Chua moved his way up with utmost dedication, enthusiasm, and creativity. He has gained a wealth of experience in the dynamic food and beverage industry with stints in 5-star establishments such as Grand Hyatt Melbourne, Hyatt Hotel Canberra, as well as renowned hotels in Cambodia, China, Myanmar, New Zealand, Singapore, and the Philippines.

Prior to joining Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium, Chef Chua was the Executive Chef at Grand Park Orchard.
