Wyndham experiences record growth in Latin America and the Caribbean

Latin-America_1Wyndham Hotel Group has announced that its Latin America and Caribbean portfolio registered record room growth in the second quarter of 2015. The hotel group added 11 new properties and 1,281 rooms in the region from April to June, which represents an increase of 15% versus same quarter last year.

During the second quarter of 2015, Wyndham Hotel Group opened new hotels across its key markets in Latin America and the Caribbean, including Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Peru, increasing the company’s system size in the region by the end of the second quarter to more than 17,000 rooms across 146 properties.

Additionally, our development throughout the region reflects the strong confidence and ongoing commitment that our local partners have in working with us to bring the quality lodging experience expected of Wyndham hotel brands to their markets and for that, we are grateful. “

Among the hotels that opened in the second quarter of 2015 was the first TRYP by Wyndham hotel in Mexico, which opened in Mexico City in April; the newly-constructed Ramada Hotel & Suites Campos dos Goytacazes and Super 8 Caxias do Sul properties in Brazil; Wyndham Costa del Sol Lima in Peru; and Wyndham Garden Barranquilla in Colombia, which opened in June.

The company’s pipeline in the region at the end of the second quarter included 114 hotels representing more than 10,800 rooms. Some of the key new properties expected to open during the rest of the year include Wyndham Quito Grand Condor in Ecuador, TRYP by Wyndham Isla Verde in Puerto Rico, Howard Johnson® Neuquen in Argentina and Ramada Encore in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

With the opening of these hotels in the second quarter, Wyndham Hotel Group currently has a total of 146 hotels throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, which represent more than 17,137 rooms under its Super 8, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Ramada, Ramada Encore, Days Inn, Wingate by Wyndham, Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham, TRYP by Wyndham and Howard Johnson brands.
