Pentahotels expands worldwide

pentahotels_1Pentahotels  has reached a new milestone in its development this year with now 25 hotels in operation throughout Europe and Asia. Five new pentahotels opened in the United Kingdom in 2014 – in Birmingham, Derby, Inverness, Warrington and Ipswich – and the UK has emerged as the neighbourhood lifestyle hotel brand’s biggest growth market.

Together with pentahotel Reading there are now six hotels and more than 770 pentahotel rooms in Britain. Existing properties in Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hong Kong and mainland China have already expanded the penta footprint worldwide.

“The acquisition of five hotels in the UK this year has enabled us to drive forward our expansion and fly pass yet another milestone in our company’s history,” says Alastair Thomann, managing director of pentahotels Europe. “This development takes us a massive step closer to our target of 80 properties worldwide by 2020.”

Pool tables and Sony PlayStations: the penta concept is in a class of its own. The pentalounge, which is the centrepiece of each hotel, is a stylish relaxation zone and meeting point. The unique pentalounge concept was designed by Italian star architect Matteo Thun. The pentalounge is no chilly hotel lobby; instead it is a cool club location which effortlessly transforms from a laid-back day-time meeting place into a hip lounge by night.

From the instant they check-in, visitors sense that the penta style holds no truck with conventions – the check-in desk doubles up as a bar, and guests can order the latest trendy drink as they receive their room key. Amenities such as free WiFi throughout the entire building, flatscreen TVs in the bedrooms, free Pay TV including films on demand and a wide choice of sports channels, are all part of the penta standard.

Pentahotels is a design-driven, neighbourhood lifestyle brand providing independent travellers with comfort and style in a contemporary environment. The brand was launched in Europe and is currently represented by 25 hotels in Europe and Asia, with five more properties opening by the end of 2015 and a target of 80 pentahotels in operation or under development globally by 2020. The hallmark of the hotels is pentalounge – a combined lobby, reception, bar and café – designed as a lively gathering place for hotel guests and local patrons alike.
