Nic O’Donnell, General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns has the pleasure in announcing the appointment of Alex Rogers as the new Executive Assistant Manager.
Alex Rogers, an Australian originally from Sydney has called Cairns home since 2008, with a short stint in the region in the mid 90’s as well. He brings with him over 20 years of hotel experience in hotel expansions, renovations, hotel operations and rooms division operations.
“I am thrilled to have Alex on board. He brings a great deal of local experience and is highly regarded in hospitality circles in the region. I look forward to his contribution and assistance in taking the hotel to the next level.” said Mr. O’Donnell
Mr Rogers joins Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina Cairns from Hotel Grand Chancellor, Palm Cove where he managed hotel operations. Prior to that Mr Rogers was with Amalgamated Holdings Limited, where he was instrumental in managing the renovations and transition of branding from Rydges Sabaya Resort to QT Resort, in Port Douglas, as Rooms Division Manager. His experience within hotel and resort chains, include Mirvac, Intercontinental Hotel Group, and Hyatt International.

Mr Roger’s talent extends to the community with considerable involvement in Surf Life Saving at both a Local level, with Cairns SLSC in Palm Cove and also at a North Queensland Branch level.
