Langham announces key promotions in Hong Kong and London

Langham Hospitality Group announced new senior leadership appointments for its three Hong Kong hotels and the group’s flagship hotel in London. Reflecting Langham Hospitality Group’s long commitment to talent development, all of the new leaders are being promoted from within the company. Vital members of group’s team, all four long-time leaders have been instrumental in the company’s continued growth and success in Hong Kong.

Bob van den Oord, the current managing director of The Langham, Hong Kong will be taking on the same role at The Langham, London which recently celebrated its milestone 150th anniversary. Under van den Oord’s leadership, The Langham, Hong Kong was recently named a five star hotel by Forbes’ Travel Guide in its 2015 star rating after an extensive multi-million dollar refurbishment programme, and the signature Chinese restaurant T’ang Court attained three Michelin stars in November 2015.

Taking over van den Oord’s responsibilities as managing director of The Langham, Hong Kong is Shaun Campbell. Formerly the general manager of Cordis, Hong Kong, Campbell successfully spearheaded the brand transition of the 664-room hotel from a Langham Place to Cordis in July this year.

Succeeding Shaun Campbell as managing director of Cordis Hong Kong is Shane Pateman who led the team at Eaton, Hong Kong for the last four years as general manager. Pateman is a seasoned hotelier and he is also the group’s key CSR champion, advocating the global green efforts at the corporate level for Langham Hospitality Group.

Sherona Shng, who was hotel manager at The Langham, Hong Kong has been promoted and is the new general manager for Eaton, Hong Kong. Shng first joined Langham Hospitality Group in 2003 to lead the public relations and communications initiatives and has since held progressively senior roles within the group at the property and corporate levels.
