Meliá Campione to open on the shores of Lake Lugano

Meliá Hotels International continues to grow in Italy. The Meliá Campione will open later this year in the Italian “enclave” of Campione d’Italia in the province of Como in Lombardy, an tax-free zone surrounded on all sides by Switzerland and which uses the Swiss franc. Its close proximity to Lugano, the city where Mediterranean culture meets French and German traditions in the form of Switzerland, guarantees the singularity of this territory.

Located on the shores of Lake Lugano, the Meliá Campione is next to the famous Campione Casino, the largest in Europe, built before the second world war in 1933, and near the region’s other attractions, such as the marina, the former Basilica, the parish church of San Zenone, the Oratory of Saint Peter and the Parish Museum. Campione is currently an important cosmopolitan center and the destination of high-end International tourism.

The Meliá Campione will provide only 40 exclusive rooms, an all-day dining concept that brings contemporary and accessible laid-back gastronomic offer, and a Spa & Wellness, amongst other luxury services and facilities. Meliá has reached a management agreement with the hotel owners, Khamas Hospitality part of the Khamas Group of Investment Companies of Dubai. Khamas Group has over a century of business experience, and in the United Arab Emirates alone includes more than 120 companies in sectors as diverse as real estate development, contracting and construction, hotels, manufacturing, franchising and education.

Khamas Group of Investment Companies Chairman, Bader Bukhamas said, “We are proud to partner with Melia International for our upcoming Boutique property at Campione and they are our preferred partners in U.
