Eco Hotels aims to be world’s first carbon neutral hotel brand

Eco Hotels UK Plc is looking to establish the world’s first carbon neutral premium value hotel brand. Setup by two experienced hospitality entrepreneurs, Suchit Punnose and Jay Krishnan, Eco Hotels seeks to add 10,000 rooms by 2023 and build a profitable premium value hotel brand that supports sustainable living without compromising on the standards of hospitality.

The hotels will be based in India and will also be developed in emerging markets however the company behind them is run to UK PLC standards.

India has a large demand for new properties within the global hospitality industry. There is the emergence of a new generation with a focus on both economic prosperity but also a social conscience. Whilst the current supply of hotel rooms is circa 110,000 rooms, it is estimated to have a shortage of 150,000 rooms.

The rooms that are currently in supply are generally in the luxury range with few competitors in the mid-range and budget sector. There are more hotel rooms in the Greater New York Metropolitan Area, an area with 12 million people, than in India, a country with 1.2 billion residents.

Eco Hotel’s vision is to create a £1 billion premium value hotel brand that supports sustainable hospitality without compromising on standards.
