112-room pentahotels opens in Derby, UK

The Neighborhood-Lifestyle brand, pentahotels, opened their new hotel in Derby, the most centrally located city in the UK. With this opening, the pentahotels group adds a fifth hotel to its portfolio in the United Kingdom.

The 112 rooms in Pride Park – situated within a short distance of the business district and all the city’s sights – welcome travellers with the full penta experience. On arrival, guests will not find a stereotypical hotel reception but the pentalounge – the heart of every pentahotel and an exciting mix of lounge, bar, restaurant and chill-out area. Here, check-in takes place at the bar! The advantage? If you wish, the room key will be served with the latest drink. Stylish lighting, chilled beats and free Wi-Fi access make the pentalounge the place to be for both hotel guests and locals – an inviting place for surfing, playing and relaxing. The design concept of the pentalounge is by top Italian architect, Matteo Thun.

After a city tour or the successful completion of a business deal, guests can relax in the in-house sauna or fitness area. Or, you can relax in your room. Flat screens, air conditioning and free Pay TV, including films on demand and a range of sports channels are standard.

The European hotel chain pentahotels is gearing up for further expansion. The portfolio will have increased by 5,000 rooms by the end of 2014. The brand is currently represented by 25 hotels in Europe and Asia, with eight more properties opening by the end of 2015 and a target of 80 pentahotels in operation or under development globally by 2020.
