Through their Hotel Stay Carbon Offset Program, TI`ME aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by saving over 320 tons of carbon emissions this year. Guests can opt to pay AED15 to offset their carbon emissions through consumption of water and energy during their stay.

Offset funds raised by this program will be invested on improving the lives of families in rural Ethiopia by installing solar lighting in homes. Or alternately guests can direct their offsets towards purchasing energy efficient cooking stoves in Darfur, Sudan so that families are provided with a safe and hygienic method of cooking.

Mohamed Awadalla, CEO, TI`ME Hotels said, “TI`ME Hotels is committed to taking the sustainability message to all its hotels and stakeholders and Green Globe Certification for our properties is fundamental to driving this forward.”

“With the company-wide implementation of our Sustainability Business Plan, and the recent launch of our Hotel Stay Carbon Offset Program, we are taking a systematic approach to measuring operational savings as well as ensuring that we continually engage our teams, guests and business partners in order to actively contribute to the local community and global sustainability movement in a meaningful way,” Mr. Awadalla added.
