Singapore Tourism Board appoints Etienne Ng new Area Director for Southern China, Hong Kong and Macau

The will be responsible for promoting Singapore as a compelling destination for leisure, BTMICE and education. His key responsibilities include implementing marketing plans, advertising agency management and resource allocation.

As part of the International Group, Etienne Ng will be involved in business development and creating new networks. In addition, he will oversee the talent development, human resource management and office administration needs of the Regional Offices. 

Etienne Ng joined the Singapore Tourism Board in 2011 and played a pivotal role in the formation of a new Lifestyle Precinct Development team in 2013. He was responsible for enhancing destination attractiveness, in which the objective was to champion place management of lifestyle tourism precincts, to deliver authentic and differentiated destination experiences under the pillar of quality tourism. In particular, the first-ever precinct-wide Christmas Carnival by the River event was catalyzed during his tenure in 2013. It was a new initiative designed to augment the precinct’s inherent characteristics and present an excellent platform for stakeholders to collaborate and promote the precinct to visitors. In addition, he also led the project regarding the enhancement works of Chinatown Heritage Centre to review and develop possible methodologies to preserve the authenticity of the cultural precinct while undergoing rejuvenation.

Prior STB, Etienne worked in the private, public and people sectors in the fields of business development and marketing communications for close to a decade. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Merit) with a double major in PR & Marketing from Curtin University (Australia) in 2007.
