Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley appoints Robert Coates new General Manager

Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley is pleased to announce Robert Coates as its newly appointed General Manager,, bringing with him a wealth of international and domestic hotel experience to the NSW Hunter Region in Australia. Robert will continue in his role as Area General Manager, overseeing the operations of four hotels within NSW and ACT.

Starting his career with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) in 1986, Robert has successfully led operations across a number of IHG properties past and present in Australia and New Zealand. Properties include Crowne Plaza Auckland, New Zealand; Crowne Plaza Newcastle, NSW and Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn, Northern Territory.

In February 2014, ground was broken on Hunter Valley Conference & Events Centre, the Hunter Valley’s largest conference and events centre which is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.

Built overlooking garden spaces within Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, the Centre has a combined 2,012 square metres of pre-function, meeting, exhibition and convention space; each with its own separate access, space and natural light.

The Hunter Valley Conference & Events Centre will have capacity for up to 1000 delegates, and will provide the largest and most comprehensive conference and exhibition facilities in the Hunter Valley. All conference rooms open onto a glass roofed gallery that gives a distinct feel for its iconic Hunter Valley location.
