The Gunton Arms, a traditional pub complete with restaurant and eight bedrooms, is owned by art dealer Ivor Braka. The bedrooms and interior were designed with the help of Robert Kime, who rose to eminence in the world of antique dealing and textile collecting. Situated in an extensive deer park, the pub rears its own venison and the restaurant also serves seafood caught by local fishermen.

It’s the kind of prestigious establishment that demands only the best software solution to handle its property management. Receptionist Marie Glanville had used roomMaster 2000 at her previous job in a Norwich hotel and been impressed by its versatility. She showed no hesitation in recommending the software for The Gunton Arms.
“The software is two upgrades from the one I used previously, and I can really appreciate the improvements,” says Marie.
“We’ve been open for two years, but have recently become so busy that our old manual system of booking was proving impractical. Previously, every booking had to be detailed on a form, transferred to our books, deposits taken and emails sent to confirm the booking.
“Now, everything goes straight on to the computer. With credit card details entered, there’s no longer a need for deposits and the system even tells us if there is anything suspect about the card.”
The next step for The Gunton Arms is to integrate the booking software with an EPOS system. In this way, any member of staff will be able to access roomMaster 2000 from any terminal.
“The support we have had from NFS has been tremendous, both during the installation and after,” says Marie. “I’m really pleased I recommended roomMaster 2000. It has made life so much easier for me, freed up time for other duties and enabled me to give more attention to our guests.”
Whether it’s running the eight rooms at The Gunton Arms, or as many as 1,000 in a much larger hotel, roomMaster 2000 can offer seamless integration between reservations, sales ledger, point of sale, marketing and a real-time commission-free internet bookings interface.
