Young hoteliers rank who they’d most like to work for

At the opening ceremony of this year's Young Hoteliers Summit, the 2014 Top Hotel Employer Ranking was revealed.

Despite this year's ranking bringing a significant shake up in many areas, YHS congratulated Starwood Hotels & Resorts in retaining first place as most desirable Hotel Company Employer 2014.

Globally, respondents valued career and learning opportunities, as well as empowerment as the most important criteria when choosing an employer. The Global Top 3 are completed by the Peninsula Hotels and Marriott.

The Top 3 Ranked Management Trainee Program 2014 companies are revealed as Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, with Marriott and Swire Hotels coming in as 2nd and 3rd, and for Top Internship Employers, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Mandarin Oriental ranked first to third respectively.

The Young Hoteliers Summit has established this unique ranking on a yearly basis, giving valuable insight into hospitality students' perception of hotel company employers.

The 2014 Edition comprised of 78 schools, 99 nationalities and over 1000 responses. In addition to the generic report, the YHS Ranking team offers all companies referenced in the report the opportunity to commission a specific report.

Since the establishment of the Ranking, Expedia has acted as Patron and Young Hoteliers Summit Partner, with HOSCO Hospitality Network joining as Ranking Partner this year.
