Promo of the Week: the Cashew Trail at Park Hyatt Goa

By Pam Carroll

We hear news of hundreds of hotel promo offers, but each week we'll bring you a selection of the ones that stand out as being slightly out-of-the ordinary – or in the case of this one, a bit 'nutty'.

From 26th of March through 6th of April, the Park Hyatt Goa is tracing the life journey of Goa's most beloved fruit, the cashew.

Included in the 12 days of festivities for the harvest celebration:

  • Cashew Ritual at Sereno Spa – Try a treatment that includes an intensive cashew scrub, followed by a massage with cold pressed virgin cashew oil. Conclude your treatment with a cashew nectar drink as you relax and rejuvenate.

  • Cashew Feni Cocktail Masterclass – Feni is a cashew-based spirit produced exclusively in Goa. Don't know how to serve it? The hotel's mixologist will teach you some imaginative Feni-based cocktails such as the Buenísima, Fenirinha and Orange Sunrise to name a few.

  • If you don't want to mix it yourself, you can book a five-course Goan degustation dinner where each course is paired with a private and exclusive collection of Feni from the Vaz Estate of Madame Rosa Distillers

  • Goan afternoon tea is reinterpreted with decadent confections and delicate savouries using elements of the cashew fruit.

  • Park Hyatt pastry chefs will also offer a kid's class to discover the magic of cookie dough and decoration with cashew.

  • The festivities will culminate with a cook-off competition, where men get to show off their culinary skills. The event will also include an auction by Madame Rosa Distillery, the proceeds of which will go to Cause of Our Joy, an organisation that works towards promoting mental well-being.

Honourable Mention

Thai boutique resort, Aleenta Hua Hin-Pranburi is offering guests the ultimate Easy Rider experience along the coastal roads to Pranburi with the introduction of Harley Davidson transfers from Bangkok.

Riders stop half way at a secluded beachfront location to enjoy a five-star organic picnic, fresh from the resort's 50 rai organic farm, served by the Aleenta team who follow riders en route.

The route weaves through fishing villages, limestone karsts, national parks, farm land and off the beaten track temples, such as Khao Luang cave temple just outside of Petchaburi, before reaching Pranburi, 30-minutes past Hua Hin town. Riders then have the chance to explore further through the winding roads and spectacular scenery in Sam Roi Yot National Park, which is near the resort.
