Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group appoints Chris Ivy as Chief Development Officer in the Americas

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has announced Chris Ivy as its Chief Development officer in the Americas. He will report directly to Thorsten Kirschke, President, Americas.

"Chris' appointment will help Carlson Rezidor drive and deliver our development strategy, with a strong focus on significantly increasing the pipeline of owned/managed and franchised hotels through a targeted development strategy," explained Kirschke. "Through key relationships with owners, developers, management companies and financial institutions, he will also identify strategic investment opportunities."

Ivy joins Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group from Interstate Hotels and Resorts, where he was executive vice president, Acquisitions & Development. Prior to that, he served for seven years as senior vice president, Real Estate & Development for Hyatt Hotels Corporation, and as vice president, Lodging Development for Marriott International for eight years. He worked as director of Development for Westin in Seattle, Wash., from 1997-98, and as director of Acquisitions for American General Hospitality Corporation from 1990-1997.

Ivy holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the Rawls School of Business at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

André Nurman new Director, Food & Beverage at Westin Guangzhou

The Westin Guangzhou welcomes André Nurman as Director, Food & Beverage. In this capacity, Andre is responsible for food and beverage at the hotel.

This is André's 4th year with Starwood Hotels & Resorts beginning with The Great Wall Sheraton Hotel, Beijing in 2010.  Prior to his appointment in Guangzhou, he was the Director, Food & Beverage, Asia Pacific based in Singapore. He is Australian and a Singapore Permanent Resident who has lived in the Indonesia, Singapore, USA, Qatar and UAE. Guangzhou is his third assignment in China, having lived previously in Sanya and Beijing.

Pam Cabrera named Director of Sales and Marketing for Outrigger condominium resort division

Outrigger Enterprises Group has appointed Pam Cabrera as director of sales and marketing for the company's condominium resort division. Cabrera was most recently general manager of the Outrigger Luana Waikiki.

In her new position, Cabrera will provide leadership and coordination to the Outrigger condominium resort team working closely with island-level management, individual property teams and corporate marketing and sales resources in the development and implementation of new plans and programs to grow revenue and achieve goals for the division.

Cabrera began her Outrigger career in 1990 as a student intern working as a front desk clerk at the Outrigger Maile Sky Court. Within two years, she joined Outrigger on a full-time basis as an employee relations and staffing clerk in the company's Corporate Office.

Over the years, Cabrera has worked in various management capacities, including assistant manager, hotel manager, and product manager. In 2003, she was named assistant general manager of the Outrigger Luana Waikiki and, subsequently, general manager in 2006.

Cabrera holds a BA in psychology from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and is a member of The Navy League, Friends of Hickam and Soroptimist International of Honolulu.
