Hospitality Innovation Planet doubles in size for 2017

Hospitality Innovation PlanetWith more than 150 companies represented, the Hospitality Innovation Planet (HIP) trade show, which replaces HOREQ, has already doubled its previous exhibition area. Joan Roca, Michael Whiteman, Daniel Newman, Marius Robles, and Misha Zelman are the first confirmed speakers at Hospitality 4.0. The Horeca New Business Models Awards ceremony will take place within the framework of HIP and Hospitality 4.0

Hospitality Innovation Planet (HIP), the Horeca sector trade show that will take place from 19 to 21 February at IFEMA Madrid just announced new participation rates for its first edition: more than 150 companies will be at this event so far, doubling HOREQ’s previous exhibition area. Companies such as Booking, Campofrio, Coca-cola, Coperama, El Tenedor, Europastry, Just Eat, Mahou San Miguel, Calidad Pascual, Schweppes, and Unilever Food will be presenting their products and solutions to hospitality and catering professionals at the trade show.

In addition, the organization has already announced the first confirmed speakers who will participate in Hospitality 4.0, a transversal congress on hospitality innovation, technology and transformation that will feature more than 50 sessions and 130 international top-level speakers, like Joan Roca (El Celler de Can Roca), Michael Whiteman (Baum & Whiteman), Daniel Newman (Digital Transformation), Marius Robles (Re-Imagine Food) or Misha Zelman (Burger & Lobster), among others.

HIP is an unprecedented space where innovation, transformation, success stories, disruptive models and all kinds of solutions for the hospitality industry will set the guidelines to effectively adapt to new management models and to meet the needs of increasingly demanding customers.

Professional and Business Associations Involvement in HIP

HIP is supported by the vast majority of the Spanish association sector, such as FEHR (Spanish Federation of Hotels and Restaurants), AEHM (Association of Hotel de Madrid), La Vi–a (Association of Restaurants and Bars Madrid), AMER (Madrid Association of Restoration), FEHM (Mallorca Hotel Business Federation), the Manufacturers Association of Catering, Club Greco, and Coffee Forum, among others. These strategic partners are invested in helping improve the competitiveness of its members and willing to collaborate on multiple initiatives.

HIP has the additional support of prestigious cooking schools and educational institutions such as the Basque Culinary Center, the Complutense University of Madrid, and the Royal Academy of Gastronomy, among many others.

It is also important to highlight the institutional support offered by the City Council of Madrid, the Community of Madrid, and the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda, in order for Madrid to become the European capital of innovation of the Horeca sector for one week a year.

Horeca New Business Models Awards

The Horeca New Business Models Awards are one the most remarkable new features within the framework of Hospitality Innovation Planet. The Awards are aimed at recognizing the efforts, leadership, and transformation of those companies that are committed to innovation in the Horeca sector, focusing on business models, new products, equipment, communication management, operational processes, marketing, and customer experience areas.

The registration for the Awards must be entered before next Friday, February 3, 2017. Proposals must fall into one of these categories in order to be considered and admitted to participation:

  • Innovation Award for theÊbest product for the HORECA industry in the categories of food, beverage, machinery, equipment, interior design, and industrial design.
  • Best Project Award in the area of customer experience management.
  • Leadership Award in the hotel or catering sector.
  • Best Digital Solution Award in the area of process management, customer experience, revenue, customer loyalty program, mobile apps, marketing, and communication.
  • Best Interior Design Award for hotels, bars, restaurants …
  • New Disruptive Business Model Award in the Horeca sector.

The Horeca New Business Models Awards Ceremony will present the final candidates on Monday, February 20, 2017.
