It'll technically be another year until the next International Happiness Day on March 20, but who's to say that happiness merits only one day a year?

One of the most thrilling findings to come from International Happiness Day gives a quantifiable connection between travel and happiness. Sure, maybe most people knew that traveling made them "happy" in whichever abstract definition they individually attributed to that state of being, but just how much could travel be attributed to general happiness?

Well, G Adventure recently dropped its 2013 Adventure Survey spotlighting the essence of travel. The fact that it organized its findings into an infographic only sets things right from the get-go, being the visually satisfying feast for the eyes they are. Of the 2,321 people polled, here's what they found:

  • 83% of respondents considered travel very important to their happiness

  • 1% said they'd rather stay at home

  • 71% of respondents said that travel brings them more happiness than benchmarks of success like getting a promotion, buying a car, or purchasing a home

  • 60% of respondents are inspired to travel by browsing online. (Pinterest, anybody?)

  • 61% of respondents would rather have more days off to travel than a pay interest or their own office
