Stuart Douglas new General Manager, Apex International Hotel

Stuart Douglas_2Stuart Douglas has been recruited as the new General Manager, Apex International Hotel.

He has spent the last 12 years working for Accor, managing the Ibis Edinburgh Centre for four and a half years and before moving to Novotel Edinburgh Centre for one year. Stuart then went on to open  in March 2008 – which was the first management contract for Novotel in the UK.  Previous to that, Stuart worked for Jarvis Hotels and Principal Hotels, both situated in Edinburgh.

Stuart was self employed for four years running a small deli/ coffee shop. Prior to that he spent four years in Aberdeenshire, working at Ardoe House Hotel as Deputy Banqueting Manager, and was Assistant Manager in the team that opened Thainstone House Hotel and Country Club in 1992.

Stuart is currently a Treasurer of Edinburgh Hotels Association – the association represents 52 hotels in Edinburgh, from privately owned to large corporate hotels active in various public and private sector tourism related bodies.
