Union Hanover breaks ground on Sarani Resort in Panama

Union Hanover – a London-based specialty real estate investment and development company with a hospitality focus – has announced it has broken ground on Sarani Resort in Bocas del Toro, Panama. Construction has now commenced on the first phase, 37 hotel bungalow suites, that will encompass the eco-minded luxury resort set on the scenic private island of Isla Pastor where the rainforest meets the Caribbean Sea.
SARANI RESORT BOUTIQUE HOTEL
Miami-based independent hotel operator Boutique Hospitality Management has been selected to operate and manage Sarani Resort, ensuring the hotel provides only the highest quality service, amenities and programming for its discerning clientele. Sarani Resort has also joined Preferred Boutique™, an elite collection of 150 intimate hotels and resorts worldwide, each featuring 100 rooms or less.

“Bocas del Toro has been billed as one of the last remaining untouched paradises in the world and we are excited to bring the experience to an upscale market with Sarani Resort,” said Sam Trotter, Director of New Business Development and Ecommerce.

“We’re thrilled to support Boutique Hospitality Management on this exciting project,” said Philipp Weghmann, Area Managing Director of Latin America and the Caribbean for Preferred Hotel Group. “The addition of Sarani Resort to our Preferred Boutique collection represents our commitment to continuously enhancing our portfolio of true luxury properties in key destinations across Central America. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”

Against a backdrop of increasing global popularity, tourism and investment are robust in Panama, and notably now in the tropical archipelago of Bocas del Toro. Just a 20 minute ferry ride from the airport and main island of Isla Colon, Sarani Resort spans 75 acres and occupies well over one third of Isla Pastor and its eastern coastline. When the resort is completed in August 2015, guests will delight in the untouched paradise of the lush local landscape, formed millions of years ago by volcanoes.
