Gordon James Gorman new GM at Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi

James Gorman_1Hashoo Hotels President, Josef Kufer, has announced the appointment of Scotsman Gordon James Gorman as General Manager of the Pearl Continental Hotel Karachi.

A veteran global hotelier, Gorman brings to his second Karachi posting 35 years of  hospitality management  experience gained with leading international hotel brands, including Hilton International, Accor,  Intercontinental, Dusit and Rosewood.

His globetrotting career, spanning four decades, has included operational and General Manager positions in Glasgow, Nairobi, Mombasa, Abuja, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok, Hua-Hin, Seoul, Bahrain, Dubai, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In Riyadh he managed the operations of the ultra luxurious Al Faisaliah Hotel and Residence, one of Rosewood’s multi award-winning  properties in the Middle East. He then moved to Pakistan in 2007 to oversee the renovation and market repositioning of Karachi’s Avari Towers Hotel as General Manager, a position he held until 2013.

Gorman is a Master Hotelier member of the International Chaines de Roitisseurs, a certified TQM (Total Quality Management) Leadership instructor, and a former two term President and founder of FBAT, the Food and Beverage Association of Thailand.
