International School of Hospitality administrators elected to National Association for Catering and Events

Tim Lam, executive director of The International School of Hospitality (TISOH), and Donnell Bayot, the school’s director of academic affairs, have been elected to the board of the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE).

The election was held at the association’s annual Experience Conference and Expo in Baltimore in July.

“We are so pleased to continue our support of NACE,” Lam said. “We look forward to lending our expertise to further help professionals advance and grow in their careers through networking and continuing education.”

Bayot was named second vice president of NACE. He holds a master’s degree in education from Regis University. He is a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE), Certified Food and Beverage Educator (CFBE) and Certified Professional in Catering and Events. Bayot’s election to the board of NACE comes on the heels of his being named among the top 25 young special events professionals to watch in 2014 by Special Events magazine. The magazine, founded in 1982, is the oldest trade publication for special events professionals. He also won the Convention Industry Council’s Pacesetter Award earlier this year.

Lam and Bayot are founding members of TISOH. Working with several university professors and hospitality industry experts from the Las Vegas Strip, they developed practical, short-term training programs to help hospitality workers advance in their careers and to help people aspiring to enter the field. Diploma graduates of the school enjoy a 90 percent job placement rate.

NACE also elected a new president along with a slate of board members and officers.

With more than 4,000 members, the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE), www.nace.net is the oldest and largest professional association dedicated to all aspects of the catering and events industry in the United States.
