InterContinental Danang welcomes new General Manager Iain McCormack

The luxury InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula welcomes Iain McCormack as its new general manager.

Taking the role of leading the luxury resort to continued success, McCormack heads a team of world-class talent at the resort that includes multi-Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux, spa guru Paul Harnn and ‘podiatrist to the stars’ Bastian Gonzales. He will also spearhead the opening of new entertainment venues at the resort, including a venue that encourages guests to participate as if they were on the backstage of a Cabaret show, and a nightclub to cater to high-end incentive groups.

“InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula is one of the most spectacular resorts I’ve seen,” said McCormack. “Every single thing about it is completely out of the ordinary and I’m looking forward to paving the way for this resort to become one of the leading luxury resorts in the world. “Myth meets luxury” is our basis to develop a truly exceptional experience to our guests, creating dreams and unforgettable memories”.

No stranger to the world of luxury hotels, McCormack joins the resort from the multi-award winning Gili Lankanfushi in the Maldives where he was general manager for four years. Previous positions include Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort & Private Island in Jamaica, Cap Juluca in Anguilla and Cotton House in Mustique to name but a few.

McCormack’s international leadership experience in leading resorts worldwide coupled with his vision and know-how will take InterContinental Danang to the next level of luxury. Opened in 2012, this iconic 197-room beach resort has already been named one of the best new hotels in the world by Conde Nast Traveller USA; included in the Luxury 50 List by World Spa and Travel; awarded Best New Luxury Hotel by the World Luxury Hotel Awards; and voted Asia’s Leading New Resort and Vietnam’s Leading Resort at the World Travel Awards 2013.
