Steigenberger to open a second hotel in Amsterdam

Following the success of the Steigenberger Airport-Hotel at Schiphol, a second Steigenberger Hotel with 253 rooms and suites and a gastronomic concept extending over two levels is under construction in Amsterdam.

An adjoining restaurant terrace will provide a direct link to the neighbouring multi-purpose concert hall arena ‘Ziggo Dome’ and a unique view on the ‘Amsterdam ArenA’. The hotel will also feature a dedicated banqueting and conference area with flexible rooms which can be individually adapted to suit any event.

“Amsterdam is one of Europe’s most attractive tourist destinations”, said Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG. “The fact that the city is a leading player in the lucrative business travel sector makes it an important core market for the hotel industry. By opening a second Steigenberger Hotel Group establishment at this location, we are continuing to expand our brand presence and carrying forward our aim for international expansion”, stresses Area General Manager Netherlands Erwin M. Bruyn.

The ‘Zuidoost’ quarter of Amsterdam is an upcoming commercial and entertainment district. The area is the object of an urban development concept drawn up by the Swiss architect ‘Le Corbusier’ and has made a name for itself as a centre of shopping and leisure. The hotel forms the final component of this regeneration project. The site is owned by Steigenberger’s contractual partner and developer G&S Vastgoed.
