ACME Hotel Company launches Hotspots To-Go

Chicago’s ACME Hotel Company has announced a new amenity to enhance WiFi capabilities for guests. With fast, free WiFi already a fixture at the boutique lifestyle hotel, ACME is taking it one step further and allowing guests to take that WiFi experience outside the hotel. On January 20, ACME is rolling out Hotspots To-Go, where guests can check out a mobile WiFi hotspot at no charge and roam the city with free WiFi at their fingertips.

Guests can check email, download apps, get directions, send videos and even face-time all without relying on the number of bars on their phone. Plus, this means no more expensive data charges or unsuccessful phone tethering and no more desperate coffee shop searches for slower than molasses WiFi. Travelers, especially those traveling internationally, can enjoy unfettered access to the World Wide Web while experiencing the sights and sounds of the Windy City.

“We are always looking for fresh, new ways to enhance the guest experience and are big proponents of providing free and fast WiFi for our guests. Why not extend the ACME experience beyond the hotel stay and give guests Internet access when they need it most, while exploring a new city.” says Gene Kornota, Principal of Rebel Hospitality that owns and manages ACME. “This is hugely beneficial for the international traveler too. They can check emails and look up restaurants or directions and not worry about using all of their data and coming home to an expensive phone bill.”

In addition to the benefits for international travelers, Hotspots To-Go is a great addition to the hotel’s Google Glass amenity that the property introduced last spring. The portable WiFi hotspot will enhance the Google Glass experience for guests so that they can focus on exploring the city instead of worrying about their network connection. ACME was the first hotel in the country to introduce Google Glass as an amenity for guests in March 2014.

Guests can reserve their Hotspot To-Go at the hotel’s front desk starting January 20.
