Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has appointed Tricia Cornelius as Director of Starwood’s new sales organisation based in Brisbane.

In her new role, Tricia will manage and oversee the opening of Starwood Sales Organisation (SSO) Brisbane, which will join Starwood’s current SSO operations in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.

Moving forward Tricia will be instrumental in raising awareness about Starwood’s openings and refurbishments in Queensland and Western Australia, and in driving Starwood’s performance, revenue and position across these regions.

“This is a really exciting time for Starwood as company momentum continues to grow, especially in Australia,” Tricia said.

“In Queensland and Western Australia alone, we have a number of exciting properties in the pipeline including W Brisbane, which is slated to open in early 2018, as well as the multimillion refurbishment of the iconic Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas, which is scheduled for completion in 2016.

“I’m looking forward to leveraging this growth to build meaningful and long-lasting client relationships, spearheading the development of the SSO in these regions,” she concluded.

Tricia started her career with Starwood in 2004 when she joined the SSO based in New Zealand. During this time Tricia looked after the outbound MICE Market and Wholesale partners. In 2010 Tricia moved to Australia taking on the role of Director of Sales & Marketing at Sheraton Noosa Resort & Spa, successfully repositioning the hotel after a AUD$10 million renovation.

As Director of SSO Brisbane, Tricia will be based at Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane, reporting into Ashley Hansen, Regional Director for Sales & Marketing and Starwood Sales Organisation in the Pacific.

“As Starwood’s footprint grows across Australia, we are expanding our sales organisation to match where our customer base is growing. By appointing a dedicated and experienced seller for Queensland and Western Australia, we are increasing the ease of doing business with Starwood,” Ashley said.

He continues, “Tricia is a welcome addition to our growing sales team and I am confident her wealth of experience working with high net worth clients will be a strong advantage as we continue to optimise our sales strategy.”
