The 241-room oceanfront hotel, the first Howard Johnson in Asia outside of China, is operated under a franchise agreement with local South Korean developer, Windum AMC whose construction capabilities have a growing track record of success across hotel, residential and civil infrastructure projects.

Much loved by honeymooners and holiday makers, Jeju Island is known for its beautiful beaches, waterfalls and its volcanic landscape of craters and lava tubes. Hallasan Mountain, a dormant volcano, features hiking trails and a crater lake at the summit, with Gwaneumsa Temple nearby.

The Howard Johnson brand originated in 1925 and is beloved by generations for memories of road trips, ice cream, and its iconic orange roofline. The oceanfront Howard Johnson Jeju Seogwipo is located in the Taepyeong-ro district, within walking distance to cultural highlights and hiking trails like the Lee Jung-Seop Cultural Street, Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market and Cheon Ji Yeon Waterfall.

All 241 guestrooms feature a balcony with either ocean or mountain views as well as cosy bedding topped with DuPont cotton duvets. The brand’s signature pops of orange and turquoise can be seen throughout the hotel while retaining its local flavour with artworks from Korean photographer, Eva Ahn.

For parents on-the-go, the family-friendly hotel provides a service for Very Important Babies (V.I.B.) with complimentary rental of bathtubs, cribs, bottle sterilisers and bed safety guards.

Complimentary Rise and Dine breakfast is available at the all-day dining restaurant and the other onsite facilities include a fitness centre, a rooftop terrace with Jacuzzi hot tubs overlooking the ocean, small function rooms and free WiFi access.

Howard Johnson Jeju Seogwipo’s room rates start from KRW89,100 for a Deluxe Room. As part of the hotel’s opening festivities, guests are offered free late-night snacks from 8.30pm to 10pm. The offer will run from 28 April to 30 June 2017 and guests can choose from two options; a hotdog and a refreshing pint of beer or a warm bowl of udon noodles.
