IHG to open new Minneapolis hotel

IHG MinneapolisIHG ‘s 291-key hotel located at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport will open in the summer of 2018. The airport is in the process of a five-year expansion and improvement plan.

InterContinental Hotels Group recently announced that the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts development at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport (MSP) will open in the summer of 2018. The 291-key hotel broke ground in October 2016, followingÊa partnership between Graves Hospitality and Intercontinental Real Estate Corp.

The 12-story building will also include nine suites, two restaurants, a penthouse-level observation bar and a signature InterContinental Club Lounge. Additionally, the hotel will offer amenities such as a business center, a fitness center, spa and approximately 20,000-square-foot of meeting space with a 10,800-square-foot ballroom.

Located just 12 miles from downtown Minneapolis, eight miles from downtown St. Paul and less than five miles from the Mall of America, the hotel offers convenient access to a light rail line that runs from the airport to the shopping center. MSPÊoffers non-stop service to 155 destinations, including 128 domestic and 27 international markets.

The airport is in the process of a five-year expansion and improvement plan, which will include the expansion ofÊthe size of arrival and departure facilities, constructing a new parking facility, adding four new gates at Terminal 2-Humphrey, new restaurants and retails shops.
