The NOVUM Hotel Group and GBI AG developing a niu hotel in Mannheim

niuMannheim proudly presents its new project of the coming year: The NOVUM Hotel Group, together with the project developer GBl AG, is planning a Millennial brand niu hotel in the Seckenheimer street near the historic city center.

The opening of this 170-room hotel is scheduled for November 2018. “The strategic selection of our location is the most important part of our dynamic expansion. Mannheim is the economic and cultural center of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and is located directly in the “DreilŠndereck”, the tri-border area,” said David Etmenan, Chief Executive Officer & owner of the NOVUM Hotel Group. Together with GBI AG, the Hamburg group is already planning several hotel projects. “The cooperation has proven to be extremely efficient,” said GBI AG CEO Reiner Nittka. “We appreciate the mutual, reliable, and open collaboration and plan to expand on this in the future.” The facade is being designed by the Prasch Buken Partner architect’s office and JOI-Design is responsible for the interior design.

Each niu hotel tells a story inspired by the location, taking the young and young at heart on an adventure in a leisurely atmosphere and creating a unique and unmistakable hotel experience. With the second largest Baroque castle in Europe and the Art Nouveau facility at the water tower, it is no coincidence that guests in the Mannheim niu, the niu Square, will discover stories from the Baroque period, as far as the eye can see.

The nickname “City of Squares” comes from Mannheim’s name as a town laid out in squares. The historic city center is not divided into streets, but into blocks of houses. Abundant stucco features and magnificent chandeliers ensure a princely touch. However, the niu Square continues to be innovative as well as unique, due to the surprisingly urban-modern design full of extraordinary details. Niu’s neighborhood concept, serving local specialties, such as oxen breast, plum cake or original spaghetti ice cream from Mannheim, completes their culinary concept. In terms of technology, niu Square is far ahead of the Baroque period. Available anywhere, anytime: ultra-fast Wi-Fi, USB ports, built-in power points and harmonic background music.

At present, the NOVUM Hotel Group is already planning more than 30 niu hotels and in November 2017, the first hotel will open its doors in Essen.
