The first urban glamping experience opens in Los Angeles

glamping Los Angeles A landmark property since opening in 1928, Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel is bringing a touch of the Ògreat outdoorsÓ to its Veranda Suite terrace with the first urban glamping experience available in Los Angeles.

Accessed by the property’s original wrought iron and marble staircase, the Veranda Suite is the only room in the Hotel to reside on its very own floor. A soaring respite ten stories up, the one-of-a-kind, the studio-style suite features a 2,140 square-foot (200 square metre) terrace with unparalleled 270-degree views of the Hollywood Hills and Rodeo Drive.

ÒAs we approach our 90th anniversary next year, we’re exploring new, experiential avenues for guests to rediscover our iconic property,Ó says Regional Vice President and General Manager Ben Trodd. ÒGiven the sweeping cityscape views and the storied, celebrity past of our Veranda Suite, we knew this would be the perfect way to embrace its glamour. We’re thrilled with the result – it’s truly the ultimate luxury glamping experience with an urban twist.Ó

The expansive tent, which is 16 feet (4.9 metres) in diameter and more than 10 feet (3 metres) tall in the centre, offers the coveted Four Seasons sleep experience with a queen-size bed and Four Seasons linens, and lavish furnishings including a crystal chandelier, marble lamps, fur rugs, and antique nightstands. Out on the terrace, oversized lounge furniture surround a fireplace, and outdoor dining for eight completes the glamping experience. Guests who reserve the Veranda Suite also have full access to the large, one-bedroom suite, which features a king-size bed, walk-in closet, marble bathroom and modern amenities.

For a truly unforgettable stay, guests may enjoy an exclusive glamping tasting menu prepared on the veranda by the Executive Chef of Beverly Wilshire. Starting at USD 185 per person, the menu features indulgent delights such as Special Reserve ossetra caviar and Japanese Mishima ultra wagyu beef, in addition to elevated, seasonal plates inspired by picnic table favourites. Celebrity Chef Chris Ford puts a final touch on the evening with campfire s’mores made with 24 karat gold leaf, Tahitian vanilla bean marshmallow, and a smoked 55 percent Valrhona chocolate bar paired with a vintage Champagne flight.
Urban Glamping in the Veranda Suite is available for a limited time only through December 2017. Rates start at USD 3,500.
