Canopy by Hilton, Hilton’s new lifestyle hotel brand, and RCP Holdings, LLC, an affiliate of The Prime Group, Inc., have unveiled plans to develop a Canopy by Hilton in Chicago. Residing at the southwest corner of South LaSalle Street and West Adams Street in Chicago’s Loop neighborhood, the 223-room Canopy property will be the ideal location for both business and leisure travelers.

Slated to open in Fall 2018, at 208 S. LaSalle, Canopy by Hilton Chicago Loop was designed as a natural extension of Chicago’s downtown neighborhood with local design influences and natural materials used throughout the hotel’s architecture and interiors. The hotel’s entrance will be on La Salle Street with its reception area, restaurant, bar, and Canopy Central lobby located on the 20th level. The hotel also will feature a fitness center, a day transfer lounge, 4,000 square feet of meeting space, and a rooftop terrace, and bar.

Each morning, guests will have two complimentary choices for breakfast; where they will be to refuel in the lobby area of Canopy Central with an artisanal breakfast, or enjoy a Canopy Breakfast Bag delivered to their room. Each evening, Canopy Central will offer complimentary wine and beer tastings. Guests also will be able to grab a bite at the restaurant or unwind and take in Chicago’s impressive skyline on the 4,000 square foot rooftop terrace and bar.

“We are delighted to bring the Canopy by Hilton brand to the thriving Loop neighborhood, in the heart of the Financial District,” said Michael W. Reschke, Chairman and CEO of The Prime Group. “With convenient proximity to Chicago’s central business district, dining, shopping, the theater district, and Canopy’s dedication to comfort and service, our Canopy by Hilton hotel will be a natural choice for both business and leisure travelers looking for a true Chicago experience.”

The Canopy by Hilton Chicago Loop will be a conversion of the top four floors of the historic landmarked building by Daniel Burnham at 208 S. LaSalle, which also houses the new 610-key JW Marriott with its entrance at 161 W. Adams. Canopy’s room will be spacious with an average of 480 square feet, wood floors, 60” HDTVS and large bathrooms with walk-in showers and private toilet compartments, as well as many one and two-bedroom corner suites.

“We’re looking forward to extending a warm welcome to the Loop neighborhood,” said Gary Steffen, global head, Canopy by Hilton. “The Windy City is an exceptional destination with rich history, outstanding culinary offerings and so much for visitors to explore; we look forward to Canopy giving energetic and adventurous travelers an authentic neighborhood experience.”

The Loop neighborhood is home to 100 restaurants, galleries, and boutiques and numerous subway and elevated rapid transit stations. The Canopy’s staff, known as “Enthusiasts,” will lead guests to popular neighborhood attractions including Millennium Park, Grant Park, State Street, which hosts a historic shopping district, the Art Institute of Chicago, once the tallest building in the world, Willis Tower and its Observation Skydeck, and the many theaters and restaurants all within a 10 minute walk of the hotel.

As with all Canopy hotels, Canopy by Hilton-Chicago Loop will complement the eclectic personality of the downtown neighborhood by appealing to travelers looking for a unique and upper-upscale experience. Canopy by Hilton blends into the neighborhood by featuring artwork from local artists, serving traditional and locally sourced food and drink, and offering destination-specific welcome gifts.
