Vantage Hotels adds 340-room Lexington Hotel in Busan, South Korea

Value Hotel Worldwide BusanVantage Hotels’ Lexington brand continues to expand throughout South Korea, with the latest addition being a 340-room new-construction project in the country’s second-largest city, Busan. The property, which is expected to open in November 2017, will be a full-service hotel and carry Vantage’s Value Hotel Worldwidename, by which Lexington Hotels are known in South Korea.

The property in Busan is the sixth new build in the country to be introduced by Vantage’s master licensee for South Korea, Service Legend, Inc. A 20-floor, 300-room property in Suwon was the first to open in December 2013; a location in Seogwipo is opening this month; a property in Sejong City is expected to be completed this December; and hotels in Jeju City and Gangneung are set to open in 2017. All of the properties are also managed by Service Legend.

Located on the southeastern-most tip of the Korean peninsula, Busan is the cultural, educational and economic center of the region. It is home to the country’s largest beach (Haeundae Beach); top tourist attractions such as the Busan International Film Festival, Nampo-Dong shopping area, Gwangbok-dong Cultural Center and Fashion Street, Jagalchi Market and Gukje Market; and is the largest port city in South Korea.

The 24-floor Value Hotel Worldwide in Busan will feature a top-floor restaurant/sky lounge, fitness center, gift shop, outdoor terrace, business center and meeting rooms. An important part of the redevelopment of the city’s North Port area, the hotel will be close to the Busan International Ferry Terminal and Busan Train Station.

“Only two of the 17 business hotels in Busan are in the same part of town as our hotel site, so we look forward to providing a much-needed lodging option there. It’s also exciting to be included in the North Port Redevelopment Project, which is transforming the original port into a cultural center and tourist destination,” said Bill Hanley, the Group President of Vantage’s International Division.

There are over 1,200 properties under the Vantage worldwide umbrella, including those operating under the Americas Best Value Inn, Canadas Best Value Inn, Signature Inn, Jameson Inn, and Country Hearth Inn & Suites brands. The growth in South Korea continues the selective international expansion of the Vantage brands, particularly in India and Canada
