One of China’s fastest growing metropolis and the gateway city to Northern China, Tianjin is an important industrial centre in China, which has attracted high levels of FDI amounting to 11.7 billion yuan with the newly established Tianjin Pilot Free Trade Zone. The integrated development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei has also contributed to the number of in-bound tourists, which grew by 11.76 percent in the last year, which is reflected in the increase in Tianjin’s tourism income by 18.32 percent.

Mr Choe Peng Sum, Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Hospitality said: “China is one of our fastest-growing markets and the opening of our 15th property in China is a clear reflection of the confidence that we have in its continued growth. Despite a slowdown in economic growth, there is no denying that China will continue to remain the Asian economic powerhouse, which is expected to double in size by 2020 from 2010 levels. We plan to continue strengthening our presence in China with our range of serviced residence offerings that cater to the different segments of the business and leisure travel market.”
