Quest expands its NSW presence – opens doors in Chatswood

Quest Apartment Hotels opened Quest Chatswood at 38 Albert Avenue, increasing Quest’s offering in Sydney, Australia by 100 rooms.

Quest CEO, Zed Sanjana was delighted to open yet another addition to the Quest NSW network, emphasising the importance of the Sydney market as a key component in the leading apartment hotel operator’s growth strategy.

“Sydney is one of our key growth areas for the coming decade – expanding our presence in this diverse and thriving city will strengthen our brand and cement our position as the accommodation provider of choice for travellers doing business in this state,” said Mr Sanjana.

“According to STR Global data from the June quarter 2015, occupancy in Greater Sydney increased to 82.6% and exceeded 85% in the CBD – positioning the city as the top performer in Australia’s hotel market. This demand is simply not being met by supply – an issue we are addressing with these new properties.”

“Destination NSW found that Sydney received over 9 million domestic overnight visitors in the last financial year, up by 4.5% on the previous period. The visitors spent almost 25 million nights in this period, an increase of 5.6% on the year before.”

“Located only a few kilometres from the CBD, Chatswood is a prominent commercial centre of Sydney, going from strength-to-strength as more large companies position themselves in this area and employment opportunities expand.”

“The opening of Quest Chatswood is further grounding Quest’s presence in Sydney, being the second of five brand new Quest properties to open in the NSW capital within an 18-month period. We opened Quest Liverpool in April, and we are set to open three more properties in 2016 with Quest St Leonards, Quest Bella Vista and Quest Macquarie Park,” he concluded.

Home to a number of prominent national and global companies, the City of Willoughby is most famous for the popular Westfield Chatswood – the second largest and most successful retail area outside of the Sydney CBD – hosting over 20 million shopper visits annually. Quest Chatswood Franchisees, Carlos and Edith Del Rosario emphasised their excitement about the upcoming opening and their confidence in its success.

“Quest Chatswood will perfectly suit both the business and leisure traveller, in addition to the relocation market, with so many national and international companies based in the area. Chatswood also boasts world class educational and healthcare facilities – TAFE NSW Northern Sydney Institute and the Royal North Shore Hospital,” Mr Del Rosario said.

“With a number of significant projects currently underway locally including Pacific Place, Chatswood Residential Towers and the Victoria Avenue Commercial Building, we anticipate strong demand for Quest’s style of accommodation and can’t wait to open our doors in November,” he concluded.

Developed by Wu International, the brand new property features 100 studio, one and two bedroom apartments. Guests of Quest Chatswood have access to free Wi-Fi, Foxtel, onsite car parking, gymnasium, local restaurant chargeback, pantry shopping, dry cleaning and business administration.

The coming year sees an extensive pipeline of new property openings for Quest across Australasia, opening in 12 new locations. In addition to Chatswood, this includes: West Perth, Mounts Bay Road, East Perth and Fremantle (WA); St Leonards, Newcastle, Bella Vista and Macquarie Park (NSW); Port Adelaide (SA); Dandenong Central (VIC); and Petone (New Zealand).
