Meliá Hacienda del Conde adds to Meliá portfolio in Tenerife

Melia Hotels International has announced the addition to its portfolio of a luxury resort in a prime location along the cliffs of Teno in the northwest of Tenerife. The resort is surrounded by the 18-hole Buenavista golf course designed by the legendary Severiano Ballesteros. The hotel has been renamed Meliá Hacienda del Conde and will be adapted to the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand standards.

Meliá Hotels International takes over the hotel from the Vincci Group (it was previously operated as the Vincci Buenavista Golf & Spa), which has left the hotel with an excellent positioning and performance. The hotel was a project supported by the island authorities a few years ago, and has now been acquired by the company Nueva Isla Baja. It is perfectly integrated with its natural surroundings and designed and decorated in traditional Canary Islands colonial style. It enjoys exceptional views over the Atlantic Ocean and is surrounded by a protected nature reserve; an idyllic retreat for the adult-only guests for which the new resort hotel is designed.

The Vice Chairman and CEO of Melia Hotels International, Gabriel Escarrer, thanked the new owners for their trust in the Meliá brand, and expressed his confidence about the success of the product, stating that “with the addition of this hotel in a magnificent location off the beaten track on the island of Tenerife, Meliá confirms its leadership in the luxury resorts segment and assumes the challenge of creating a new hotel-destination that will further extend the island’s facilities for superior quality tourism in both the leisure and convention segments.”

Meliá Hacienda del Conde will provide 117 spacious (from 40 m2 upwards), fully-equipped and elegant rooms as well as a magnificent YHI Spa, the Meliá Hotels & Resorts wellness brand, with treatment rooms, thermal circuit and a full gym. The hotel also has excellent public areas, including a large lagoon-style pool, sun terraces overlooking the sea, and the Buenavista golf course designed by Severiano Ballesteros.

Amongst other new brand attributes, the hotel will open with the exclusive The Level service offered by Meliá Hotels & Resorts, providing a VIP experience within the hotel, including superior rooms, reserved lounge areas within the resort, private breakfast room and check-in, Loewe premium-brand bathroom amenities and a pillow menu, amongst other privileges.

The hotel has a stylish, à la carte restaurant that combines local tradition with more international flavours, as well as a grand buffet restaurant offering an extensive variety of products. The culinary offer is completed by a restaurant, poolside bar and an indoor café serving the finest coffees and teas.

Meliá Hacienda del Conde also offers six spacious rooms for events or meetings, all with natural light and equipped with the latest technology.
