Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence, Larnaca to open in Cypress in 2017

Radisson_Blu_1Rezidor has announced its first hotel in Cyprus: the Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence, Larnaca, is already under construction and scheduled to open in 2017. With the arrival in Cyprus, Rezidor is now present in 80 countries across Europe, the Middle East & Africa.

“Our entry into Cyprus provides an excellent opportunity for us, and Larnaca is a major city which fits well with our Radisson Blu strategy. We believe that this signing will mark a significant step in the island’s recovery and will pave the way for further local and international hotel interest,” said Wolfgang M. Neumann, President & CEO of Rezidor. “We are delighted to be working with Quality Group who are an established developer in Cyprus, and SunnySeeker Hotels as the renowned third-party hotel management company, and we thank them for this opportunity to introduce the only branded hotel to the city.”

Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence, Larnaca is situated close to the beach, next to the city centre and just across from the city’s expanding seaport. It boasts a strategic location across from the main sea port and the Larnaca waterfront, and is just 7km away from the Larnaca International Airport.

This upper-upscale hotel will offer 105 guestrooms and serviced apartments, a restaurant and bar, club lounge, a pool bar at the fifth floor with magnificent views, a spa & health club, a conference room as well as themed restaurants and cafés, and exclusive shops on the ground floor. Its excellent location benefits from the sea port, off-shore oil drilling and the current development of the city.

Larnaca is a city on the southern coast of Cyprus and the capital of the eponymous district. It is the third-largest city in the country, after Nicosia and Limassol, with an urban population of 84,591. 60% of the Cyprus population is within 0.5 hour reach by car and is therefore the home of Cyprus’ primary airport, Larnaca International, which has recently undergone a €650M upgrade, and is home to both a seaport and marina catering to consumer and cargo needs. The city is the island’s main gateway and it operates as a leisure destination for European travellers.

The Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence, Larnaca will be operated by The Rezidor Hotel Group and SunnySeeker Hotels under a franchise agreement.
