Rosewood Clearwater Bay, Hainan to open in 2018

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has been appointed by the CMT Group of Taiwan to manage Rosewood Clearwater Bay, Hainan opening in 2018. It will be the second Rosewood resort on Hainan Island and the fourth property in mainland China following Rosewood Beijing’s opening in October 2014, and Rosewood Sanya and Rosewood Guangzhou both opening in 2017. The property will join a collection of Rosewood hotels and resorts, which today numbers 18 properties worldwide, expected to grow to 50 in operation by 2020.

Rosewood Clearwater Bay“By topography, design and intention, Rosewood Clearwater Bay will be a private and sophisticated sanctuary on the island,” says Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group. “Its concept is timeless yet contemporary, melding strong architecture with breathtaking landscape, offering discreet yet superb service.”

The property will be situated on a secluded bay offering exclusive access to a 5,250-foot pristine beach. The resort’s naturally tranquil environment will be complemented by an abundance of water features, generous use of indigenous timber and stone and unobstructed sightlines to the South China Sea.

Accommodations will consist of 116 villas with full ocean views. These include 95 within low-rise buildings that will blend harmoniously into the surroundings and include private elevators dedicated to two sky villas on each floor. Each sky villa accommodation will be enhanced by an outdoor terrace and most have private swimming pools. The 21 standalone beach villas will feature 1,776-square-foot interiors; equal-size outdoor space will include an arrival courtyard, garden, large private pool and high walls to ensure absolute privacy.  Also showcased will be a free-standing, grand three-bedroom Presidential villa 7,481 square feet.

There will be a 3,444-square-foot residential-style Pavilion meeting and event space as well as outdoor function areas.
