ITC Grand Bharat new all-suite luxury resort in New Dehli capital region

Indian luxury hotel chain ITC Hotels is expanding its portfolio of luxury properties with the addition of ITC Grand Bharat, a destination retreat in the New Delhi Capital Region.

Embodying ITC Hotels’ ethos of “Responsible Luxury,” the country’s first all-suite retreat is poised to herald a new era in the hospitality industry through a mosaic of culinary, recreation and wellness experiences including South Asia’s first and only 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course and ITC’s indigenous spa brand, Kaya Kalp. The ITC Grand Bharat is ITC Hotels’ 11th Luxury Collection Hotel in affiliation with Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Set amidst the ancient Aravali hills, the 300-acre estate is located 45 minutes from the capital city of New Delhi in Gurgaon. A manifestation of ITC’s philosophy to create hotels that are “rooted in the soil,” or reflective of the region in which they reside, the ITC Grand Bharat was built in tribute to the grandeur of India (Bharat is the Hindi name for India), with nationally-inspired architecture, interior design and warm Indian hospitality.

Complimented by ITC’s bespoke services and commitment to world-class quality, the 100 luxury suites and four presidential villas are each catered to by ITC’s Hospitality Management Institute’s young managers in the making, as “Retreat Hosts,” facilitating bespoke experiences for resident guests.

Responsible luxury

ITC Hotels embody a “Responsible Luxury” ethos: eco-embedded architecture and interior design with eco-easy services and eco-sensitized staff who promote planet positive luxury experiences for guests. The company has earned the LEED® Platinum rating for all its luxury hotels, making it one of the “Greenest Luxury Hotel Chains in the World.”

ITC Grand Bharat is a confluence of local traditions, historic architecture, modern technology, the finest in service and authentic cultural experiences – all designed to deliver the highest levels of luxury for guests without burdening the environment and to the fullest benefit to the local community.

Accommodation

ITC Grand Bharat’s 100 Deluxe Suites (753 sq. ft.) and four Presidential Villas (5,726 sq. ft.) feature a blend of Indian architectural influences with detailed woodwork, rich fabrics, marble and rich engineered wooden flooring interspaced with hand tufted carpets.

ITC Grand Bharat3ASuites either feature lounging patios that lead to semi-private lap pools, or spacious terraces with picturesque views. The living room, bedroom and bathroom are all private spaces which are compartmentalized by sliding doors, ensuring privacy yet providing the atmosphere of an elegantly appointed residence. A “Retreat Host” (butler) is available 24/7 to attend to guests’ every need, while remaining unobtrusive and ensuring privacy.

The four palatial Presidential residences redefine opulence with a fleet of service associates in attendance around the clock. Each villa design is inspired by a dynasty from India’s past – Maurya, Mughal, Maratha and Chola.

Culinary experiences

Like ITC’s other Luxury Collection hotels, ITC Grand Bharat also offers dining experiences with a variety of gourmet restaurants and a sophisticated bar. With a “Well-Being” chef at the helm, the resort’s kitchens feature low-calorie and “Swasthya” cuisine: food well-researched and inspired to attain a complete sense of physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Dining options include: Aravali Pavilion (three-meal period restaurant showcasing Modern India Mosaics), The India Room (debuting creative European classics), the Peacock Bar (featuring molecular cocktails plus an extensive wine and malt collection) and Apas Promenade (poolside marquee lounge featuring regional specialities).

ITC Grand Bharat5AFor a true culinary experience, ITC Grand Bharat offers “Cuisine Classica,” an intimate custom-crafted, hands-on workshop where guests learn how to cook an array of dishes (i.e. Mullingatawny soup, coriander-mint imbued pan-seared fish.) from the resort’s executive chefs.

Holistic wellness

As a wellness destination unto itself, ITC Grand Bharat offers the ideal ambience for a getaway that revitalizes body, mind and spirit. ITC’s internationally-acclaimed indigenous spa brand, Kaya Kalp, covers 35,000 sq. ft. with nine therapy rooms, offering comprehensive beauty treatments incorporating traditional indigenous therapies and ancient Ayurvedic practices.

In addition to a state-of-the-art fitness center with top-of-the-line equipment and certified trainers for all forms and styles of fitness, the ITC Grand Bharat has a Yoga Master who leads private and small group sessions, with a special focus on Yoga Nidra practice.

Golf

Among the world-class amenities on the ITC Grand Bharat estate, the centerpiece is South Asia’s first 27-hole Jack Nicklaus designed golf course with an accompanying clubhouse.  Budding golfing enthusiasts can make use of the resort’s “Golf Academy,” while virtuosos will appreciate the challenge and charm of the sprawling greens, which are divided into three specialized courses.

Recreational activities

In addition to golf, guests can enjoy nature walks and hikes into the hills, explore the vast grounds via complimentary Segways or bikes, take a tumble while Zorbing, or whack a few balls around playing tennis, squash or croquet. Indoors, a Lounger’s Library, private movie theater and billiards area are available.
