The Ascend Hotel Collection from Choice Hotels International has announced the addition of the Trois Tilleuls – Hotel & Spa in Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu, Quebec to its growing list of distinctive upscale hotels. Underscoring the Ascend Hotel Collection membership program’s global expansion of fine properties, this announcement comes just a few months after the opening of the Saint James Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Toronto.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Trois Tilleuls – Hotel & Spa to Ascend Hotel Collection,” said Michael Murphy, senior vice president of upscale brands for Choice Hotels International. “Hoteliers as these, keen on delivering a distinctive, upscale experience to their guests are what make this portfolio so remarkable.”
Originally a private home located just forty minutes outside of Montreal and sitting on the banks of the gorgeous Richelieu River, Trois Tilleuls was purchased and renovated in 2014 by renowned Canadian actor Michel Barrette and his associate David Sepulchre. The hotel provides guests with stunning views of the Richelieu, the opportunity to hike Mont-Saint-Hilaire and will allow them to feel hours away from busy Montreal, while being only a short drive away.
“The Trois Tilleuls – Hotel & Spa is a true oasis from the hustle and bustle of city life, and we’re thrilled to be joining the Ascend Hotel Collection,” said Michel Barrette, actor and owner of Trois Tilleuls Hotel & Spa. “As a part of the Ascend Hotel Collection family, our property has gained fresh exposure on among global travelers, allowing us to bring in guests we’d have otherwise never been able to reach. Plus we are greatly benefitting from support and resources that come with being a member of the Ascend Hotel Collection and the Choice Hotels portfolio.”
The Trois Tilleuls Hotel & Spa has 21 rooms and 18 suites — including a super suite decorated with a 1960s theme — in a warm, rustic setting. All rooms offer balconies with river views, a therapeutic bathtub, bathrobes, luxury duvets, an indoor salt water pool, a Swedish sauna, and Spa Givenchy which offers services such as massages, facials and body care.
The hotel also makes available personalized monitoring during your stay, tourist information, laundry services, an exercise room, a restaurant, bar and lounge, a terrace, a marina and free parking and charging station for all-electric hybrid vehicles.
Guests will be surprised and delighted as they discover the many collectibles from Michel Barrette personal collection around the hotel which include objects formerly owned by famous personalities, such as John F. Kennedy, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe and many more.
The Ascend Hotel Collection membership program is an international portfolio of independent hotels that uniquely bring to life the essence and charm of its locale. Launching in 2008, the Ascend Hotel Collection pioneered the concept of “the soft brand” and has been among the fastest-growing brands in the upscale hotel segment, increasing its system size by 200% since 2010. For guests, Ascend hotels deliver a richly local experience. For hoteliers, the great appeal of the Ascend Hotel Collection is that the membership program allows operators to maintain their individuality while giving them access to the firepower of Choice Hotels International’s robust distribution system, industry leading Choice Privileges loyalty rewards program and support from a vast network of other member hotels around the globe.
The first Ascend in Canada opened in December 2009. The addition of the Trois Tilleuls brings the total number of Ascend properties in Canada to nine. Downtown Toronto welcomed the opening of The Saint James Hotel in September 2014. The newly renovated Saint James Hotel boasts a unique history having been transformed from a former Ronald McDonald House which served as a cheery and comfortable home away from home for the families of injured and sick children receiving medical treatment.
