Gregor Wateler appointed as Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai’s General Manager

Gregor WatelerGregor Wateler has been proudly appointed to the position of General Manager at Pudong Shangri-La located in East Shanghai.

During the four years of Gregor’s tenure at Kerry Hotel, Pudong, Shanghai, the hotel was awarded distinguished industrial awards, including ÒBest Business HotelÓ by Travel + Leisure (China), ÒBest Family-Friendly HotelÓ at the Conde Nast Traveller Gold List 2017 and ÒBest Meeting & Convention Hotel in ShanghaiÓ by TTG China.

A native of Germany, Gregor began his first hotel position at a five-star hotel in Berlin, Germany.Ê His experience in the hospitality industry spans 28 years, more than 19 years of which have been spent in senior management positions at nine of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts’ properties in Asia, starting from Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore in 1998.Ê While steadily rising through the ranks, Gregor’s career brought him from Berlin to France, Indonesia, Egypt, Singapore, and China.

In his leisure time, Gregor indulges in various sports, including surfing, mountain climbing and long-distance running.
Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently operates over 95 hotels with a room inventory of over 40,000.
