Dorian Rommel has been appointed as the general manager of Capella Shanghai, Jian Ye Li, which is scheduled to open in March 2017. Located within the cultural preservation zone of Shanghai’s Xuhui District, Capella Shanghai occupies the last remaining “shikumen” heritage estate, which dates back to the 1930s.

Dorian’s career has advanced through the ranks with some of the world’s most recognized brands like the Waldorf Astoria, Four Seasons, St. Regis and most recently, Shangri-La.
In his new pioneering role as the pre-opening champion, Dorian will provide strategic guidance for the 55 heritage villas, 40 serviced residences, a French restaurant as well as The Gallery, which is a collection of restaurants and retail brands.
After beginning his academic pursuits at the Hotel School Monaco, Dorian has since enriched his hospitality training at Cornell University and an Executive MBA from Reims Management School.
