Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru announces the appointment of Qiguo Su as the Chinese Executive chef for its award-winning signature restaurant, Shang Palace.

A native of Jianyang, Sichuan, Chef Qiguo Su brings with him seventeen years of rich culinary experience gained at five-star hotels and luxury hotel pre-openings in the capital city of Chengdu. Chef Qiguo Su specialises in Sichuan cuisine, one of China’s eight regional culinary traditions and the most popular world over. Sichuan cuisine is recognised for its hot and spicy delicacies resulting from the liberal use of bold and spicy ingredients including garlic and chilli peppers.

He will lead the Chinese restaurant’s kitchen and ensure that guests relish an authentic and consistently high-quality culinary experience and the focus will be on honing his culinary brigade’s gastronomic skills. In addition to expertise in authentic preparations and menu planning, he also possesses strong leadership skills, with experience in training and motivating culinary associates to work together as a team. Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru is Chef Qiguo Su’s first assignment in India. His longest career stint has been with Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu and his previous assignments also include other international Hotel chains.

Bengaluru’s dining adventurers will certainly be charmed by the wide range of authentic and time-honoured Chinese delicacies from various parts of China as Chef Qiguo Su and his team present the real ‘art of Chinese dining’.
