El San Juan Hotel is pleased to announce Stefan Huber’s appointment as Managing Director & General Manager of the Isla Verde beach hotel which, under his direction, will reopen its doors in early 2017 following a multimillion dollar, property-wide renovation.
A seasoned hospitality veteran, Huber returns to the El San Juan Hotel, where he served as Director of Housekeeping from 1985 to 1987. Huber refined his skills at the Ocean Reef Club, The Fairmont Dallas, The Inn & Spa at Loretto, and most recently, the InterContinental Dallas.

Huber began his career in Puerto Rico holding a variety of positions at the Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino and the El San Juan Hotel & Casino. In 1989, Huber joined Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, where he held numerous director level positions at several Hyatt Hotels and Resorts on the United States mainland and Puerto Rico, including Hyatt Regency Coral Gables, Park Hyatt on Santa Monica Beach, Hyatt Regency Scottsdale, and Hyatt Regency Dallas, along with Hyatt Resorts, Cerromar Beach and Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico.
In 1998, Huber began a decade long career at the Fairmont Dallas, followed by five years in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as General Manager of The Inn & Spa at Loretto, a 135-room boutique property. As General Manager, Huber steered the property through a multimillion dollar renovation to successfully restore the hotel. In addition to his experience leading boutique properties, Huber has worked with various leading hotel groups throughout the United States. Most recently, Huber served as the General Manager of the InterContinental Dallas, a position he held since 2013.

Huber received a BBA in Business Management from Inter American University in Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, followed by post graduate studies in Hotel Management at Puerto Rico School of Hotel Administration, which at the time was a Cornell University Satellite. He is fluent in English, Spanish and German.
