Casa Palopó, a private home turned luxury boutique hotel in the Guatemalan highlands, is pleased to welcome back Jennifer Cornwell as General Manager. Cornwell previously served as Casa Palopó’s Resident Manager from 2008-2012.

In her position, Cornwell will oversee all hotel services and staff development including maintaining guest satisfaction, profitability, and employee morale at Casa Palopó, Guatemala’s first and only Relais & Chateaux property. With experience in event planning, Cornwell will also take on the responsibility of supervising, coordinating and delegating new hotel programming and activities.

A seasoned hospitality professional, Cornwell’s experience is focused on boutique property management. Her work experience includes the Pelican Eyes Piedras y Olas Resort in Nicaragua, where she made non-profit partnerships a focus of her work. Previously, she was Hotel Manager at Hotel La Casa del Mundo on Lake Atitlán, where she also collaborated on menu development.

“I am thrilled to rejoin my family at Casa Palopó and work alongside a team of dedicated hospitality professionals. It’s no coincidence that my path brought me right back to this beautiful gem of a hotel, and I am looking forward to all the triumphs – and gorgeous Atitlán days – that lie ahead,” said Cornwell.
