Fresh on the heels of Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort’s US$42 million investment in property enhancements, the resort is pleased to welcome René Cahane as the new executive head chef.

“We successfully invested upgrading our physical structures and personal wellness offerings. We are now working to present meals at the resort more than simply breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but rather dining ‘experiences’ and René Cahane will assist in making this come to fruition,” said Mark Ozawa, managing director of Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort. “We welcome him to the Windjammer Landing family and our culinary team. We look forward to seeing all that he brings to the table,” he added.

With more than 25 years of professional culinary experience working in five-star hotels, restaurants, and private members’ clubs around the world, Cahane, who grew up in East London, is classically French trained and skilled in modern European, Caribbean and traditional British cuisines. He is proficient in a wide range of modern and traditional food preparation and techniques and believes in using locally-sourced seasonal produce, using his unique skills to ensure the best flavours and qualities of a dish are delivered.

“I have a passion for working in this industry and I believe this is reflected in the dishes I prepare and present,” notes Cahane. “I am pleased to be a member of the Windjammer Landing team and have already created innovative menus that celebrate the best of international cuisine so guests can savour an eclectic gastronomic experience when dining with us,” he added.
