Gordon James Gorman returns to Nigeria as General Manager of The George

Chairman Tien George has announced the appointment of Scotsman Gordon James Gorman as General Manager for THE GEORGE HOTEL Lagos.

A veteran global hotelier, Gorman brings to his second Nigerian  posting 35 years of  international hospitality management  experience gained with leading global hotel brands, including Hilton International, Accor, IHG, Dusit and Rosewood.

His globetrotting career spanning four decades, has included operational and General Manager positions in Glasgow, Nairobi, Mombasa, Abuja (Hilton), Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok, Hua-Hin, Seoul, Bahrain, Dubai, and Riyadh, where he managed the operations of the ultra luxurious Al Faisaliah Hotel and Residence, Rosewoods market leading and multi award winning  properties in the Middle East from 2004-2006, before moving to Pakistan in 2007 to oversee the renovation and market repositioning of Karachi’s iconic Avari Towers Hotel as General Manager, a position he held until 2013.

Gorman is a regular contributor to several leading international hotel industry journals and websites, a Master Hotelier member of the International Chaines de Roitisseurs, a certified TQM (Total Quality Management) Leadership instructor, and a former two term President and founder of FBAT, the Food and Beverage Association of Thailand.
