Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort announced the appointment of Mr. C.C Kyo Lin as Executive Chef. In this role, Kyo is responsible for the comprehensive management and guidance of the resort’s culinary team.
Hailing from Canada, Kyo has more than 18 years of experience in the kitchen. After getting diplomas in professional culinary and international hotel management, he began his career in Vancouver B.C at several high-end restaurants including Mistral French Bistro, L’Emotion restaurant and Pan Pacific Hotel Five Sails restaurant. He also honed his skills at Fleur De Sel restaurant, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Lyon, France.
Kyo then continued his career in China. He joined Sofitel Suzhou and transferred to Pullman Guangzhou Baiyun Airport as Executive Chef. Afterwards he engaged in the pre-opening project of Conrad Sanya and Doubletree by Hilton Sanya. Later he joined MGM Macau in charge of the daily operations at 12 kitchen outlets including Western & Chinese Michelin-rated restaurants. Prior to this appointment, Kyo worked for Grand Hyatt Shanghai as Executive Sous Chef, mainly in charge of the daily operation of 11 kitchen outlets.
In 2000 and 2001, Kyo won the silver medal at the fifth annual B.C Chefs Hot Competition, and took the ‘Best Leader’ and ‘Best Future Chef’ titles at the second annual Canadian National Chef Competition.
In his spare time, Kyo likes to visit local farms to talk with the farmers and fishers on the island to get inspiration, as well as the freshest materials and ingredients in season.
