I Wayan Suwastana appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for Mövenpick Resort and Spa Jimbaran Bali

I Wayan Suwastana Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts has announced the appointment of I Wayan Suwastana to lead the pre-opening sales and marketing department of Mövenpick Resort and Spa Jimbaran Bali, scheduled to open in November 2016.

The appointment of I Wayan Suwastana follows the Swiss hotel management company’s accelerated expansion into the region with more than 20 new properties planned for Southeast Asia by 2020.

I Wayan Suwastana arrives in the role with a degree from the Academy of Tourism Mataram-Lombok with a specialisation in hotel management, and close to 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the hospitality sector.

With his extensive experience and knowledge of Bali, Suwastana is keen to start promoting the luxury resort, which is inspired by traditional 5 Elements Balinese designs and reflects the fabled natural wonders of the region.

“It’s an exciting time to be joining Mövenpick Resort and Spa Jimbaran Bali in this crucial pre-opening period,” he said.

Suwastana began his career as a sales executive in 1977 and quickly worked his way through the ranks with several Director of Sales and Marketing roles in five-star hotels across his native Indonesia.

“Mövenpick Resort and Spa Jimbaran Bali, is a much anticipated addition to the Bali hospitality landscape and I look forward to bringing my experience to the challenges ahead,” added Suwastana.
