Shannon Ballard, who previously served a two-year stint as assistant general manager at an Embassy Suites hotel in Tampa, FL, will head south take on her new role.
“Moving from Tampa Bay to Miami has been an exciting whirlwind to say the least,” Ballard said. “Hopefully from my adventurous travels, I’ll be able to bring a fresh, bold perspective to the wonderful team at this Courtyard. Ultimately, I want to give guests a truly unique experience that separates us from other South Florida hotels.”
From 2006 to 2010, Ballard started her career as a front desk agent while studying hospitality and tourism management at Purdue University. Following graduation in the summer of 2010, she served as a front desk supervisor at Courtyard Fort Wayne Downtown at Grand Wayne Convention Center and quickly moved up to the manager position at the hotel’s on-site dining establishment, Champions Restaurant & Sports Bar. After nearly seven years in Indiana, Ballard transferred to the Lone Star State, where she worked as front desk manager at Courtyard & Residence Inn Austin Downtown/Convention Center.
While Ballard is thrilled about her new job, she said she is also elated about the hotel’s unbeatable location. She looks forward to bringing her knowledge, dedication and talents to Courtyard Miami at Dolphin Mall, where guests are able to easily walk to the area’s largest outlet shopping and entertainment center.
Business and leisure travelers alike will appreciate relaxing in her hotel’s spacious and contemporarily designed accommodations, boasting thick mattresses dressed with crisp linens, custom comforters and supportive pillows. Courtyard Miami thoughtfully provides property-wide, complimentary wireless internet, allowing tech-savvy visitors to stay connected to home or the office. Intimate seminars, training sessions and even social occasions can all be held in the hotel’s event room, featuring 800 square feet of flexible space, along with professional catering and audiovisual services.
