Nasser Samman named General Manager of The Claridge Atlantic City

TJM Properties, a Florida-based real estate and hospitality company, has named Nasser Samman general manager of its flagship property, the historic Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The appointment is part of TJM’s ongoing expansion into the area of hospitality management. The company has purchased three new hotels in the past eight months in Central New York, Pennsylvania and Mississippi and appointed seven new general managers, sales executives, financial controllers and specialists in the area of Human Resources, Engineering and Information Technology.

In his new position, Mr. Samman will be responsible for all operational and marketing aspects of The Claridge, including its new Conference Center at The Claridge, recently built to meet the growing demand for meeting venues in the seaside resort. The opening of the new Conference Center brings the hotel’s meeting space to 100,000 square feet.

Mr. Samman’s hospitality career spans management positions in operations, catering sales and food and beverage for such leading brands as Hyatt, Sheraton, New York’s Vista Hotel and Restaurant Association.

As general manager of two leading luxury hotels in the Long Island market, he earned an enviable reputation for his marketing skills and successful financial management. Newly appointed as general manager of The Allegria Hotel in Long Beach, New York, Mr. Samman faced the daunting challenge of restoring the property after Hurricane Sandy. Today, The Allegria Hotel as a leading choice on Long Island for meetings, banquets, and world-class dining and hospitality.

Nasser Samman holds a number of honors for his hospitality expertise and community involvement. In 2009, when he was general manager of the Garden City Hotel, Long Island Business News honored Mr. Samman in its inaugural “50 Around 50” awards for leading Long Island executives. In 2007, Mr. Samman was selected as one of 20 industry experts to sit on the advisory board of Seven Stars and Stripes, an arbiter of global luxury standards in travel and leisure. In 2004, the Big Apple Chapter of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International selected Samman as General Manager of the Year. In 2002, Mr. Samman received the New York State Senate Liberty Award for exceptional achievement for his work with a local relief fund to support 9/11 families. Other honors include the 2006 HSMAI General Manager of the Year and The Grand Hyatt New York – Manager of the Year.

Nasser Samman graduated from New York City Technical College and was honored by its Department of Hospitality Management with its Distinguished Alumni Award.
