Asker Skaarup Bay named Executive Chef of Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has appointed one of Thailand’s leading culinary figures, Asker Skaarup Bay, as Executive Chef of Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya.

The 262-room property opened on 6 February 2016, delivering five-star hospitality on pristine Na Jomtien Beach. Chef Asker will oversee four restaurants and bars including Twist, an all-day dining venue, T55, a grill room with great steaks inspired by New York’s Meatpacking District, the pool bar and a lobby lounge.

“Chef Asker is a great team leader who has worked extensively in five-star hotels globally for over two-decade.” said Andrew Langdon, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Senior Vice President Asia. “He has a great knowledge of Thailand and its cuisine, as you would expect from someone who has been an Executive Chef at some of the best hotels in Thailand and around the region.”

Known for his grace under pressure, patience and motivational skills, Danish national Skaarup Bay has enhanced his knowledge and expertise through continual exposure to many new cuisines.

He has tantalised the most refined palates at famed restaurant and hotels such as Quo Vadis restaurant in London; Restaurant Mosaic at The Westin Sydney; Jumeirah Beach Hotel Dubai; Shangri-La Bangkok; and The Leela Hotel and Resort Goa.

Skaarup Bay’s luxury Executive Chef assignments in Thailand includes Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok, Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas at Krabi, Pimalai Resort and Spa at Koh Lanta, Krabi, The Village Coconut Island, Phuket, and Radisson Blu Plaza in Bangkok, his previous position prior to joining Mövenpick.
